ETAG

ETAGs
European Technical Approval Guidelines (ETAGs) were established by the European Organisation of Techncial Approvals under the Construction Products Directive - 89/106/EEC (CPD) - upon mandates of the European Commission. Member States were invited to publish these Guidelines in their official language(s). The reference document is the English version. Some other language versions could be made publicly available by EOTA.

According to Art. 66(3) of the Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011 ETAGs may be used by Technical Assessment Bodies (TABs) organised in EOTA as European Assessment Documents (EADs) for issuing European Technical Assessments (ETAs). For common terms used in ETAGs,
Available documents reflect the situation of ETAGs on 30th June 2013.

ETAGs used as EADs ETAGs can be used as EADs by TABs for assessments of construction products in line with the requirements set by the Regulation (EU) No 305/2011 (Art 66 (3)). They are used as far as relevant for the issuing of European Technical Assessments (ETAs).

ETAG conversion Since 2014 and based on a specific agreement with the European Commission, EOTA develops the ETAGs into EADs following the requirements set up in the Construction Products Regulation (EU) No 305/2011. This will lead to modifications of the structure as well as of the content. Unless otherwise noted, technical changes are not envisaged to be taken into account.
